Your Moon sign is the zodiac sign the Moon occupied at the moment you were born. Where the Sun sign describes your core identity, the Moon sign describes your emotional inner world — what you feel, what soothes you, and what you need to feel safe.
Why do I need my birth time for my moon sign?
The Moon moves quickly — about one sign every two to two-and-a-half days — so on some birth dates it changes sign partway through the day. A birth time removes the ambiguity. Without it, we compute the most likely Moon sign for that date and flag when it is close to a boundary.
Is the moon sign more important than the sun sign?
Neither is “more important” — they describe different layers. The Sun is your conscious identity and will; the Moon is your emotional and instinctive nature. Many people feel their Moon sign describes their private inner life more accurately than their Sun sign describes their public one.
